USEFUL INFORMATION

Are there any entry requirements? Do I need to be able to ski at a certain level?

We only require motivation, a passion for your discipline and an open attitude towards having the best winter of your life. We require you to have a reasonable level of fitness too.

Do I need to speak French to train in Quebec?

No, but by the time you leave, you're guaranteed to speak more French than you did when you arrived. 98% of the population is French speaking, but most people speak English and will be delighted to practice their English on you. We highly recommend you make the most of your stay by learning as much as you wish. This way communicating with the locals will become easy and fun!

How much is the cost of living?

Many of your day to day expenses are included in your payment. You'll receive 3 meals a day, accommodation, lift passes, transport, 2 levels of certification etc. The only things you may need to pay for are expenses outside of planned activities such as shopping, personal equipment and insurance. You could survive and live well purely on our course fee.

Are there any age limits?

We accept students from the age of 16 upwards. Our focus is to improve your abilities to a professional level, regardless of your age, experience and background.

When should I book?

Booking before the 1st of July will ensure your place on the course. Booking before this date also guarantees your own private room and a free Apogee ski/snowboard instructors jacket. We'll also book your flights for you, but after 1st July we will credit your flight tickets, which you'll pay for yourself. We do accept bookings as late as December, providing places remain- we always have room for keen and motivated individuals.

Do I need my own equipment, and where should I buy it, Canada or UK?

You'll need your own equipment, as renting would prove too costly and unpractical. We recommend you buy your equipment over here for three reasons.

Firstly, the warranty will cover any damage or faults you experience with your equipment.

Secondly, it can be tuned to your abilities and physical attributes. You'd also get top advice on which equipment is right for you.

Thirdly, it will be a lot cheaper in Canada than in Europe. You can also expect company discounts of up to 25% on specific brands.

Can I find a job after the course?

CSIA and CASI qualifications are recognized around the world. New Zealand, South America, USA, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Spain all recognize the Canadian qualifications. France only accepts its own qualifications. Each school may require different levels of qualifications, so it's best to ask around before you apply for that job you've always wanted.
